Our first wildflower outing of the season was to the Camassia Nature Preserve, 20 minutes down the road in West Linn. This Nature Conservancy site is small but diverse, tucked in between residential neighborhoods, a high school, the freeway, and the Willamette River. We timed our visit to see the namesake Camas Lillies in full bloom, and they did not disappoint. Saw a few birds too. Here are some photos. Nancy wrote about this trip on her blog.
