Commonwealth Lake Park, Spring 2026

In between things, a quick stop at this lovely park in the Tualatin Hills. The man-made lake adjacent to Johnson Creek* is stocked with trout, and on this sunny spring morning the neighborhood was out in force, taking advantage of the many walking paths and fishing bridges. This didn’t seem to bother the birds any; and some ducks thought this was a fine place to raise a family.

* This isn’t the same Johnson Creek that runs for 25 miles through the eastside of Portland before feeding into the Willamette River near the town of Milwaukie. This one is in Washington County on the westside, and feeds into the Tualatin River, which eventually joins the Willamette from the other side near Oregon City to the south.
