This beautiful site overlooking the Willamette River had been gifted to the Episcopal Diocese in the 1950s by the Kerr family, with a stipulation that there would be public access to the garden. It was recently put up for sale, and there was some concern whether the new owners would continue to allow access. But this summer the descendants of the Kerr family repurchased the site from the Diocese, and have announced it will remain open to the public. This is great news, as this is a wonderful place to revisit throughout the changing seasons. Fifteen minutes from home, with views of Mt. Hood and the river, and for this visit, fall berries and flashes of colored leaves among the greenery.
