Tualatin NWR, February 2024

I returned to Tualatin National Wildife Refuge early in February. There was plenty of muddy water after the January storms and melt, but most of the migratory birds were hanging out in the distance along the closed seasonal trail, or high in the air. Still, there’s always something to see here.

Gorgeous in any season! It looks a lot like Nisqually looked this fall and with much the same cast. On my walk yesterday I heard warblers galore and it got me excited for spring!
