A few days after our trip to the Gorge, we made time for another wildflower outing, this time to Camassia Nature Preserve in nearby West Linn. We’ve visited this Nature Conservancy site several times, and it’s always interesting, with many diverse habitats in a relatively small area. This year was almost a month earlier than our visit last year, but the namesake Camas lilies were already blooming in abundance, along with many other wildflowers. And we caught a lot of action around the cell-tower osprey nest, although it wasn’t clear who was doing what to whom. Just a short 20 minute drive from home, this preserve was a great spring morning getaway.
