Tualatin NWR, January 2025

On a Sunday morning, the Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge is a quick 20 minute drive from our door. The trails closest to the water are closed during the nesting season, but the view from the Visitor Center and a walk through the oak savanna always provide plenty to look at. On a crisp sunny weekend morning, some of the most interesting creatures were the young families of humans. No photos, but a highlight was a three year old responding to his mom who was trying to hurry him down the trail: “Wait, Mom; I’m making a memory!” Me too!
